Rates exclude Gondwana Game Reserve’s Conservation Levy.

• The 2020 Conservation Levy is R350 per adult per stay and R175 per child under 12 per stay in addition to the quoted rates.

Please note these fees are subject to change with notification and billed in advance and non-commissionable.
Soft and alcoholic beverages are not included in the rates except on game drives.  
No single supplement is charged in the Villa accommodation if 2 or more adults are sharing.

Families and groups are accommodated in the Villas for their comfort and convenience. 

Minimum 2 nights length of stay in all Villas for the following period:  23/12/2020 – 15/01/2021 and 01/04/2021 - 06/04/2021 
Half Board rates will not  bookable over the following period:   23/12/2020 – 15/01/2021 and 01/04/2021 - 06/04/2021
Airport Transfers can be arranged at an additional charge and must be pre booked via our reservations department.

Game Drives

• Children under age of 6 not permitted on Game Drives, only on a private vehicle.
• Children under the age of 2 years old are not permitted on a Game Drive for their own safety.
• A private vehicle can be reserved at additional cost of R3000 per day, to facilitate children from 2 - 6 years of age on Game Drives, should the family require this. This option is only bookable 48 hours prior to arrival and is subject to availability.
• The Lodge Team will, upon check-in, endeavour to facilitate young family Game Drives at no additional charge for families with children aged 4 – 6 years of age.

The Junior Ranger Programme

• Is complimentary for all Full Board and Half Board guests with children.
• With a dedicated children’s guide, the program includes educational Game Drives and interactive conservation activities.
• The younger children’s activities will be based mainly around the lodge to stay closer to parents.
• On arrival, families will be informed about the Junior Ranger program and their ranger will enquire about any special requests, dietary, babysitting or otherwise.
• Children will receive a fun Ranger’s backpack and cool safari booklet to fill in throughout their stay. During game drives and other activities with their ranger, kids will be taught how to identify mammals, birds, Fynbos species, and even stars. They will gain a greater understanding of conservation and our precious eco systems. 

Additional Family information

• Families are booked into  Bush Villas for their convenience (cots are available on request).
• Villa rates are per person.
• Various beds in the villas can be split into a twin configuration.
• Children’s menus are available for lunch and dinner. Please do advise the Reservations Team of any specific dietary requirements so that we may accommodate them.
• If parents wish to have dinner at the lodge without their young children, babysitting and in-room dining can be arranged in the Villas. Parents’ meals can also be delivered to the villa, though our chefs would prefer you to experience Gondwana’s cuisine first hand in the lodge dining areas.
• Villa picnic baskets are available as a lunch alternative for families, as well as fishing picnics subject to availability.

Horse Back Safaris

• Horse Back Safaris on Gondwana’s specially bred Shire cross trail horses – “gentle giants”
• Overnight guests are welcome to alternate their game drive with a horse ride in the reserve’s 1000 hectare walking area
• Day visitors can also book morning or evening rides with or without a bush meal (brunch or dinner) in the reserve’s 1000 hectare walking area

Bird Watching

• Gondwana has over 300 species of birds in its general region, many of which are endemic and only found in this part of South Africa, such as the Cape Sugarbird and Orange Breasted Sunbird
• Frequent sightings of endangered Black Harriers on the reserve are a real treat for bird enthusiasts

Guided Nature Trails and Fynbos Walks

• Walk unnoticed with your game ranger into close proximity to black rhino and elephants and truly appreciate these spectacular animals
• Walk with our Fynbos experts and enjoy one of the world’s six Floral Kingdoms, Gondwana being the smallest and richest per area unit in the world.

FIT’s:
• A 15% non-refundable deposit is required 30 days prior to arrival to confirm and guarantee the booking.
• The balance to be settled 15 days prior to arrival.
• If a booking is cancelled due to a pandemic declared by the World Health Organisation, and a guest is prevented from taking up their booking due to any governmental regulation or any medical incident relating to this, all cancellation costs will be waived and all monies will be refunded, regardless of the cancellation period.
• If a booking is cancelled due to disinclination to travel 30 - 15 days prior to travel, a 15% cancellation fee will apply.
• If a booking is cancelled due to disinclination to travel 14 days or less to travel, full cancellation fees will apply.
• If a booking is made 15 days or less prior to arrival, full prepayment will be required within 48 hours to confirm the booking.

Groups:
• A 15% deposit is required 45 days prior to arrival to guarantee the booking.
• The balance to be settled 30 days prior to arrival.
• The only occasion we may request a deposit sooner, is in the case whereby a serious booking request for the same inventory from another source could be confirmed. This deposit will be fully refundable until such time as our standard cancellation terms apply.
• If a booking is cancelled due to a pandemic declared by the World Health Organisation, and a guest is prevented from taking up their booking due to any governmental regulation or any medical incident relating to this, all cancellation costs will be waived and all monies will be refunded, regardless of the cancellation period. In case of a medical incident, documentation will be required.
• If a booking is made 30 days or less prior to arrival, full prepayment will be required within 48 hours to confirm the booking.
• Standard T&C’s remain in place for group cancellations due to disinclination of travel.
