Adults travelling:

• Adult Sharing rates apply to persons (12 years and older) sharing one room/suite/tent. Persons 12 years and older are considered adults and will, therefore, require their own room/suite/tent at the applicable rates.
• Single Adult rates are only applicable when one adult is staying by him/herself in one room/suite/tent. Not applicable when an adult is sharing a room/suite/tent with a child/children.
• Note that all rooms can sleep a maximum of two adults.
• Above mentioned rates are inclusive of breakfast, lunch, dinner, game drives, guided wilderness walks, tea, coffee, water, game drive beverages, tourism levy and 15% VAT (all other beverages are excluded and must be settled upon departure).
• Persons under the age of 16 years are not permitted on any walking safaris
• Persons under the age of 14 years are not permitted on any walking safaris.

Children travelling:

• Applicable to Gondwana Family Lodge only.
• Child rates are applicable to children from 4 years up to and including 11 years; irrespective of whether children are sharing with adults or staying in their own room/suite (single or sharing).
• 0 to 3-year-olds are accommodated at no additional cost, on a sharing basis only with adults.
• Above mentioned rates are inclusive of the “Kids on Safari” program, breakfast, lunch, dinner, game drives, tea, coffee, water, game drive beverages, tourism levy and 15% Vat (all other beverages are excluded and can be settled upon departure).
• Persons under the age of 4 years are not permitted on game drives.

All rates are quoted and invoiced in South African Rand (ZAR) on “per person per night” basis.

Conservation Levy:

• A daily conservation levy of R125 per person per day will be implemented as of: 01 May 2021.
• The conservation levy will be charged on the final invoice to the guest and must be settled on departure.
• This levy is not included in the above-mentioned rates.
• The purpose of the guest conservation levy is to support the intense and ongoing conservation efforts on the reserve and support provided to local communities.

•  Note that all tents can sleep a maximum of two adults.

• All rates are subject to change without prior notice.
• A minimum stay of two nights (Friday and Saturday) must be booked per reservation.

 Insurance 

• We highly recommend that travel insurance is taken out. 

Special Catering/ Outsourced Meals

• Please note that the outsourcing of any certified meals (i.e. Kosher or Halaal) will incur an additional surcharge per person per day.

Transfers / Gate Times 

• Transfers to and from the reserve can be arranged with reservations on request at an additional cost.
• Terms and Conditions relating to Road transfers apply, and are available on request/as addendum to this document.
• All transfers are handled by accredited car hire and charter companies.
• A complimentary transfer from the welcoming lounge, located 15 kilometers into Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, is available and recommended for all guests to make use of when reserving the Explorer Experience. The following itinerary recommendation/ outline has been provided:
•  o Day 1, day of arrival (Friday):
•  o All guests arrive at the Sanbona Welcome Lounge by 12h00, transfer to a luxury lodge at 12h30
•  o Meet your specialist guide who will host you for lunch at one of Sanbona’s luxury lodges
•  o Transfer in an open game viewing vehicle to the Explorer Camp, Camp orientation, followed by the afternoon walk
• Day 3, day of departure (Sunday): 
• o Early rising can be expected due to temperatures during summer 
• o Enjoy a breakfast in the bush before departing at 10h00 in order to meet up with the transfer from one of Sanbona’s luxury lodges to be back at the welcome lounge by 12h30 (A brief walk on morning of departure is optional).

Provisional Reservations

• Provisional bookings during festive season (17 December 2021 – 03 January 2022 (travelling dates)) will be held for a maximum of 24 hours.
• Subject to availability; i.e.: should we have limited suites available, only confirmed bookings will be accepted.
• Bookings made less than 30 days prior to arrival will be held for a maximum of 48 hours.
• Bookings made 31 - 90 days prior to arrival will be held for a maximum of 7 consecutive days.
• Bookings made more than 90 days prior to arrival will be held for a maximum of 14 consecutive days.
• Should confirmation not be received by the given date, the booking will be automatically released and can only be reinstated subject to availability and on the basis that the booking is confirmed/guaranteed.
• Full names of guests traveling will be required to convert the status from provisional to confirmed.  Name changes are not permitted once reservations have been confirmed.

Payment 

• Full pre-payment is required 60 days prior to arrival.

Cancellations

•  Only written cancellations will be accepted; please ensure you receive an acknowledgment of cancellation from reservations.
•  A fee of 50% of the booking value will be charged if cancellation is less than 60 days prior to arrival.
•  A fee of 100% of the booking value will be charged if cancellation is less than 30 days prior to arrival.
•  All reservations must be cancelled through/ via the original booking channel; failure to do so will result in full payment being required.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

• Minimum of a 2-night consecutive stay is required.

Road Transfers

Road transfers are done by an accredited company with the applicable liability and insurances in place. All transfers must be booked through the reservations department at least 72 hours prior to arrival. Vehicles used for transfers might change due to availability, but will be similar in size.

The below rates are

• per vehicle per way
• valid from 01 November 2022 to 31 October 2023
• applicable to road transfers between Cape Town and Sanbona Wildlife Reserve
• quoted, invoiced and payable in ZAR
• subject to change without prior notice
• only applicable if booked through the reservations department

Additional Services

• Baby / booster seats are available at no additional charge
• Luggage trailers are included in the rate
• Overnight stays of the driver may be required for early departures from Sanbona. For any departure before 9am from Sanbona, an additional fee of R1 955.00 will be applicable. Please note that an overnight stay may be required for late arrivals.

Payment

• Transfer charges will be added to the total booking value and is payable with accommodation.

Cancellations

• 100% (Full) cancellation will be charged for all transfers cancelled within 48 hours of travelling.

Sanbona offers a Welcoming Lounge 15km from the main gate. A complimentary transfer from the welcoming lounge to the different lodges is available on request and must be booked at least 72 hours in advance.

There is secure parking available for vehicles at the Welcoming Lounge. Guests enjoy a refreshment while they wait for transfer to their respective lodges.
