Most of our Garden Route Activities are offered for day visitors as well but there are some for overnight guests only.  Please also see special overnight kids’ activities as well as age limits on various Botlierskop Activities.  Kindly note that ALL DAY VISITOR activities need to be booked in advance.

Guided Game Drives

A real Garden Route Safari experience! Enjoy close encounters with Rhinoceros, Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Giraffe, the rare Black Impala, Golden Wildebeest, Mountain Zebra, Hippos and more! Our Game Reserve is 4200ha and comprises of over 26 different species of animals and over 200 resident bird species.  Book a Sundowner Drive or Private Drive.

Horseback Safaris

Enjoy an exciting horseback safari and escape to the majestic mountain valleys and beautiful fynbos for a 1, 2 or 3 hour horse ride and experience nature like never before. Experience our diverse plant life including woodlands, coastal and mountain fynbos and spot free roaming wildlife (Cannot be guaranteed).  All experience levels welcome (child 6+).  

Horseback Outrides

The Outrides are adventures and are rarely on marked roads but through thick bushes and over mountainous terrain at working speed which makes these ride ideal for game viewing on horseback. Upgrade your package and end off with breakfast, lunch or dinner as optional extra.  The Horseback Outrides are 3.5 hours for experienced riders only. 

Botlierskop Bush Spa

Relax and enjoy being pampered in our new Botlierskop Bush Spa. The Bush Spa is situated on the riverbank surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery and consists of two treatment rooms named Fauna and Flora. Treatments include African massages, facials, manicures and pedicures.  So take a step back, breath and let us pamper you, while surrounded by nature! 

Try your hand at fishing with an experienced guide or take off time on your own and ask your guide to arrange a fishing rod and tackle. Fish species you are likely to catch are Blue Carp, Largemouth Bass and Fresh Water Eels. A fishing license fee of R220.00 are charged for this activity. 

The Botlierskop Tennis court is located below the koppie of the Botlierskop Main Lodge and is ideal if your idea of relaxation is getting some fresh air outdoors and exercise. Guests can rent out the tennis court for an hour or more, day or night.  We will supply tennis rackets and balls.  Available from 09:00am till 17:00pm. 

Why not pack a picnic (Provided by Botlierskop) and head down to the Moordkuil River Dam and enjoy a paddle up the 1 km Moodkuil river, passing the tented suites. Enjoy views of the mountains while spotting some bird life and if you're lucky, animals roaming the banks. Life jackets are provided and children are welcome.

Kids Activities For Accommodation Guests Only

Your Botlierskop Ranger will take the kids for fishing (catch and release) while you can relax in your room or at the Botlierskop Lodge. 

African Face Painting options and kids short massage treatments like the giraffe back, neck, and shoulder massage. 

A Ranger will take the children on a walk to identify animal foot prints, fauna and flora. A certificate will be given once complete.

Botlierskop offers free internet at the lodge (no internet available in the rooms) and has 2 Swimming Pools, Tennis Court and a Bush Spa.

Swimming Pool

The heated pool at the main lodge, with it’s breath-taking views of the valley below, is balm for the soul. The large open-air deck seamlessly integrates the Fauna & Flora. The Manor House non-heated swimming pool overlooks the plains and animal sightings are common.

Tennis Court

Feel free to make use of our tennis court situated at the foot of the Botlierskop hilltop. The tennis court can be used during the day or evening as it is equipped with lights. Tennis equipment is available at Botlierskop.

Bush Spa

 At Botlierskop Game Reserve, where Heaven meets Earth at the end of each day, relax and enjoy being pampered at our Bush Spa. The Spa is situated on the riverbank surrounded by magnificent mountain scenery and consists of two treatment rooms named Fauna and Flora.

The Ceremony
You have endless ceremony options to choose from. Celebrate your love on the banks of the river and have the ceremony that every couple dreams of with the sound of flowing water splashing against river pebbles under the shade of majestic trees in the centre of God’s creation. Say your “I do’s” under a romantic arch and surround yourself and your guests with the breathtaking views of Botlierskop. Under our classic white marquees tent, you and your partner can dance the night away.

The Reception
Botlierskop's Wedding Venue offers Cutlery and Crockery, an option for Under Plates and Candle Holders that you can use. We have 2 different types of table cloths with matching linen serviettes. All of the above will be included when having your wedding with us. Our Wedding Coordinator will assist you in organizing a florist to prepare your floral arrangements as well as a DJ/Band for the entertainment. If you'd prefer different colour schemes, we have various rental companies on list to assist you.

Food & Beverages
Botlierskop's Chefs have a variety of menus from buffet style to set menus from 3 course to 5 course meals. You can also combine a plated starter, dessert with a buffet style main course.  The buffet is very traditional with a variety of meats including fillet, kudu, crocodile, chicken and more. The Wedding Coordinator will also suggest different arrival drink options and snacks for the guests before the reception. A fully licensed bar is also available and a bar limit, open or cash bar is possible.

Decoration
Plain off-white or damask embossed tablecloths are available at the reserve, as well as matching serviettes. This linen, as well as crockery and cutlery costs are included in the venue hire and cannot be excluded.

Photography
Your wedding coordinator will assist you in selecting a highly recommended photographer and will  arrange an appointment to meet them. The different price structures will be discussed to assist you in your choice.

The Cake
We have quite a few highly recommended wedding cake suppliers. Your Botlierskop Wedding Coordinator will gladly assist you in choosing your perfect wedding cake and ensure it gets to the venue safely.

Flowers
Flowers can be arranged through a florist in the area. Please advise your Botlierskop Coordinator if you have any specific arrangement ideas or flower preferences in mind. This will ensure an accurate quotation. Guests can hire/obtain their own flowers should they wish to do so.

Entertainment
A musician or DJ can be arranged at an additional cost. Please let us know if you have any specific ideas as to the type of musician(s) you'd prefer to have at your ceremony or reception.
Live entertainment can be arranged at an additional cost like: Drumming, African Dancers and live music.

Co-Ordination Services
The Botlierskop management team is available at no extra cost to you and covers ongoing consultation and assistance with the selection of suitable suppliers and the final execution of the event. Feel free to make your own choices outside of our supplier database.
