The Village | Botlierskop Game Reserve
The newest addition to the Botlierskop Game Reserveis The Village Lodge. Overlooking the magnificent Outeniqua Mountain Range, the lodge is set on the landmark Kleinvlei Farm, now part of this picturesue 4,200-hectare, malaria-free reserve. The Village Lodge is located on the northern side of the Reserve, very close to the historical Friemersheim that was originally a mission station and the site of the slave quarters for Great Brak River. The Lodge is a harmonious blend of modern and historical houses, some dating back to the 1800s. These have been lovingly restored into spacious rooms with en-suite bathrooms and contemporary country-style interiors. The family orientated rooms has its own entrance and patio with a garden or mountain view.
The expansive herb and vegetable gardens surround a focal dam “Watermollen” and “Perdedam” (Grootdrink of Dors) and water flows past the houses in a network of canals. Abundant fresh produce supplies the popular Bellevue Restaurant, formerly the district’s school house, were one of the last pupils of The Bellevue School in 1938 said, that Kleinvlei had one of the strongest athletics teams of all the rural schools in the area.
The lodge is child friendly and all ages are welcome, aside from sailing paper boats in the canals, young ones will enjoy the playground, spacious lawns, sandpit, swimming pool, tadpole fishing and pony rides, while parents relax at the Botlierskop Bush Spa, take a guided bush trail or horseback safari
