About the Tour
A trip to South Africa, with all its amazing experiences isn’t complete without a seeing Africa’s famed Big 5 So called by hunters over the last two centuries because they were the hardest to hunt on foot, and they fought back. Well, we now have Land Rovers, and specialized game guides to get you as close as possible with no fighting back! Our highly trained guides know exactly where to find these incredible creatures, taking only pictures, making memories and telling some really great fireside stories for years to come. For over 30 years, we have operated up-market, exclusive and bespoke safaris for clients looking for the ‘real safari’ experience. Set in over a 10,000 hectare conservancy, between the Langeberg and the Outeniqua Mountains in the Karoo, only an hours flying time from Cape Town, you’ll land in pristine countryside ideally suited for wildlife.

The Owner
The owner, Searl Derman, is passionate about preserve Africa’s increasingly threatened wildlife and is fully committed to social upliftment, job creation and various sustainable empowerment programmes. Creating the ideal balance between nature conservation and the empowerment of the local Touws River community. So get your boots on, grab your cameras, and climb on board one of our Airbus Helicopters and get close to the Big 5 as only Aquila can do it.
