Table Mountain Platteklip Gorge Hike (Cxt)

In our opinion, no Cape Town visit is complete without taking a hike up the iconic Table Mountain, and with it reaching the height of 1085m it shows off the most beautiful views of the Mother City. Enjoy the beautiful scenic hiking that Table mountain offers with breathtaking views, sheer adventure and the rich floral biodiversity of The Table Mountain National Park which forms part of the Cape Floral World Heritage Site – home to over 8200 plant species, of which 80% is fynbos.

Platteklip Gorge Hiking trail is the oldest and most direct route to the summit and therefore also the most popular, so expect company along the way. It is quite a strenuous hike, so be prepared to spend roughly around 2 hours climbing the front face of Table Mountain which overlooks the City Centre, Table Bay and Robben Island. The route we follow was the first recorded route to be hiked by early explorers dating back to the early 1500’s! This is the only way to truly appreciate the views from the top of Table Mountain!

This is quite a strenuous hike up the front face of Table Mountain which over looks the City Centre, Table Bay and Robben Island. The route we follow was the first recorded route to be hiked by early explorers dating back to the early 1500’s! This is the only way to truly appreciate the views from the top of Table Mountain!

Itinerary
You will be picked up by your Cape Xtreme guide and taken to the contour road on the front of Table Mountain above the city centre. You then begin the hike by winding your way up the front of the mountain stopping regularly along the way to take in the amazing views of the city and Table Bay. As we make our way to the top you will notice how the vegetation changes along the way, a beautiful feature of the hike. Once at the top we amble around taking in the breath taking views. We then make our way down with the cable way. The hike up is approximately 2 hours long and as there is not much shade from the sun we prefer starting earlier before it gets too hot.

• Cancellation outside 14 days prior to tour date: 100% credit as Travel Credit voucher / 95% refund*
• Cancellation 14-7 days prior to tour date: 100% credit as Travel Credit voucher / 80% refund*
• Cancellation 3-6 days prior to tour date: 50% refund*
• Cancellation 2 days prior to tour date, late arrivals or “no show”: No refund / Full fee charged

* The general / standard cancellation policy applies to all products excluding specific Packages, Kruger Tours and Private/Custom made tours.

* All transaction / transfer fees and/or forex conversion costs charged by the banks during the refund process will be billed to you (client).

* Refunds and Travel Credit voucher values are calculated in our local ZAR (South African Rand) currency. Transaction values in your own currency could be affected due to bank fees and currency exchange fluctuations. Refunds are usually made back to the original source of payment method.

* This option may be selected up till 7 days prior to your start / departure date. The voucher should be used within a 24 month period from the issue date unless stated otherwise. Where a Travel Credit voucher option is selected, payment in FULL must be made to Cape Xtreme if the booking was made through a Travel Agent. Please be advised that a Travel Credit voucher is selected instead of a cancellation charge and will result in no refunds being issued. After the Travel Credit voucher has been selected no further alterations can be made / no refunds will be issued should you make any changes again.
