Ziplining in Elgin (Cxt)
Join this exhilarating tour as you fly through the valley on 11 different ziplines, with the longest being over 300m long, each ending on a platform constructed on the cliffs and fynbos covered mountain slopes above the Riviersonderend Gorge; it is the perfect day trip for the whole family. A unique suspension bridge between a narrow sandstone ravine above a double waterfall offers spectacular views of surrounding mountains which will take your breath away.
This ziplining activity takes place at the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve, and you will gain access into a previously inaccessible and pristine part of this amazing World Heritage Site.

Located in the Elgin Valley near Grabouw and scaling the rugged Hottentots Holland mountains in the Cape Nature reserve of the same name, as second on the list of the world’s hottest new tourism experiences for 2015 and it is the only African attraction to make the list!

Approximate itinerary:
You will make your own way to the Elgin Valley near Grabouw where you will be met by a passionate team to give you an introduction of the activity and the safety measures. You will then be transported in an open vehicle to the start of the tour. From the moment you launch off the first platform, a new world unfolds as you slide on a steel cable across to the next viewpoint. Once you arrive at the platform we encourage you to stop for a while and enjoy the view while your guide points out interesting features or facts about the surrounding ecology.
All groups are escorted by a lead guide and safety guide at all times as your safety is our priority and strict procedures are in place to ensure that you are constantly connected to either the cable or the platform. Each tour lasts between 2 – 4 hours, depending on the group size and upon returning to the office you will enjoy a well-deserved meal and refreshments.

Children aged 7 years are welcome (under parent supervision) Legal guardians will be asked to sign additional liability waivers for those under 18 years old.
Additional information:
Those who do not have the ability to regulate their speed on the slides will be able to go in tandem along each cable with trained guides. If you have a medical condition or disability please enquire with our office staff before booking a tour
Pregnancy: We regret that participating in the experience is not permitted when pregnant.
Fitness required: We recommend a reasonable level of fitness. You will need to hike for 1km up and out of the mountain after the tour.
